One way to do missions during the time of Covid
By Wayne Patterson
CBFSC Disaster Response Coordinator
CBF Disaster Response is working with churches and partners along the Gulf Coast to provide buckets containing items essential for flood cleanup. If you and your church would like to create buckets for use this fall on or before November 15, CBFSC will happily collect and deliver them before Thanksgiving.
COVID-19 has limited our ability to take mission trips to help in the areas affected by hurricanes and floods and so forth, but we know the Flood Buckets will be needed and we can provide them.
It gives us a way to demonstrate love and care for the people affected even though we can’t be there in person. We can and do send financial support but these bucket items, like many other materials, will be in short supply so we are meeting a real need and doing hands-on missions at the same time.
In addition, if small groups in our churches work together to prepare the buckets, the fellowship and general missional feeling they will experience is immeasurable.
The flood bucket project can truly help us to be the presence of Christ that helps strengthen our churches while helping our neighbor
Click Here for a PDF with items and instructions that you can use to create buckets. If buckets are assembled and brought to your church, just let Debbie Haag know by November 15 so that we can plan for a pick up that week.
We are grateful for your partnership in Disaster Response mission work!
