We hope that you’ll join us in North Charleston at St. Matthew Baptist Church for CBF South Carolina’s General Assembly on April 1st.  It will be such a joy to gather again in person, and to celebrate how we collaborate in missions and ministry across our state.  Baptist Women in Ministry will kick off our day with a morning prayer service.  We’ll do the work of the Fellowship during our business session, then hear about the work of our South Carolina mission partners during our afternoon breakout time, and how we can partner with them.  We’ll even be treated to a bus tour of Metanoia’s work around North Charleston!

We’ll welcome Dr. Luke Powery, dean of the chapel of Duke University to preach in our evening worship, be blessed by the music of The Voices of Deliverance, and we’ll kick off Metanoia’s celebration of their first 20 years.

20 years ago, CBF South Carolina, led by then Coordinator Marion Aldridge and Missions Coordinator Beverly Greer, led our fellowship to impact the Chicora-Cherokee neighborhood of North Charleston by commissioning Bill Stanfield and Evelyn Oliveira to move into the neighborhood.  From that initial investment, the wonderful work of Metanoia has bloomed and grown.  We will celebrate this ministry that has done so much good, and we’ll celebrate Bill, Evelyn, Marion, & Beverly by announcing a significant gift from our churches and individuals within the fellowship to bless Metanoia’s next twenty years!

We’ll also have a fun dinner along the banks of the Ashley River at the historic Jenkins Institute to celebrate Jay Kieve and his time as our second Coordinator of CBF South Carolina. We’ll have a Low Country Boil and Oyster Roast (with alternatives for those who don’t partake), along with live music in a beautiful outdoor spot!  This will be a great celebration of Jay’s leadership, and an opportunity to thank him for his time as our Coordinator.

Springtime in the Low Country!  Your CBF South Carolina friends!  A celebration of wonderful mission partners and some of our dear friends who have led us!  What more could you want?  Won’t you join us?

Please share this information with your congregations in bulletins and announcements.
