Katrina Reeves is the recipient of the 2023 Brenda Kneece Christian Action Award given by CBFSC for her loving spirit and faithful leadership in community ministries serving children and their families.
Katrina is the Program Director for Palmetto Works and the Associate Minister of Palmetto Missionary Baptist Church in Conway. She also does advocacy with Horry County’s Moms Demand Action to reduce gun violence, by supervising interns and coordinating volunteers.
Katrina works tirelessly as director of Palmetto Works’ after school program, helping children with homework, organizing music and art lessons, and teaching etiquette and leadership skills. Katrina inspires so many people in Conway and in CBFSC.
Beth McConnell, pastor of Kathwood Baptist Church in Columbia, nominated Katrina for this award. “Her life and work are a testimony that encourages me and bolsters me in my faith,” Beth said.

This award is named to honor Brenda Kneece, former director of the South Carolina Christian Action Council, whose long ministry included addressing systemic challenges of racial inequity, injustice, and access to resources in South Carolina.
