What is clergy sexual abuse? What does it look like? And how do we prevent it?

Last week, pastors and lay leaders joined the CBFSC Congregational Life committee on learning more about this topic. Rev. Jay Kieve led the conversation on defining and preventing clergy sexual abuse and sexual harassment, and how to respond to abuse at church.

It is important to know what clergy sexual abuse is, warning signs, and some of the factors that contribute to it. And do you know what things that your church can do to prevent it? Some of these things are having clear expectations, accountability, and setting healthy boundaries.

This excellent webinar can be a resource for clergy, lay leaders, and entire congregations. We encourage you to watch the recording of this video to learn more. The link is: https://vimeo.com/672000480.

If you would like more resources about this topic, the CBF Sexual Misconduct Taskforce provides videos, discussion guides, a policy and prevention guide, articles, and other resources. You can find this on their website at: https://cbf.net/safechurches.
