The two new board members for the CBF Youth Ministry Network (YMN) are from South Carolina.

Amy Brown is President-Elect. She is the student minister at First Baptist Church in Anderson. Her role will be planning Oasis 2022, a spiritual retreat for youth ministers.

“I was connected to the CBF Youth Ministry Network through my youth minister who invited me to join in 2014,” Amy said. “I attended Oasis, a spiritual retreat for youth ministers, and found a community of like-minded, fun, and inspiring friends. These connections have given me hope in the hardest days and joys in the mundane tasks of ministry. I am excited to serve as President Elect and make plans for Oasis in 2022!”

Lucy Cauthen, the minister of youth and missions at Boulevard Baptist Church in Anderson is the new co-membership coordinator. She will be working to manage membership.

“I originally joined the YMN simply as a way to gain creative ideas for my own ministry. I quickly realized this network offered so much more than just fresh ideas,” Lucy said. “This network is a safe space to speak truth and to come as we are. It is a place where insights are offered on ministry, on life, and on the Kingdom of God. I truly believe this network continues to mold me into a better minister and a better person.”

“I am most excited about the community with the YMN,” she said. “The colleagues in this network bring insight, encouragement, humor, and perspective. I am constantly reminded I am not alone in my struggles and in my celebrations. Together through the Spirit, we are able to have our cups refilled when they are starting to run dry.”
