WHO WE ARE

About CBFSC

A surprising sort of Baptist.

Who We Are

The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of South Carolina (CBFSC) is a network of churches, institutions, and individuals who share a common passion for living out the Great Commandments and the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. Rooted in historic Baptist principles, CBFSC exists to nurture faith, cultivate partnerships, and engage in God’s mission throughout the state and beyond. Membership is open to congregations and individuals who share these commitments and support the mission through prayer, participation, and financial support.

Meet The Staff

The staff of CBFSC serve as facilitators of mission, ministry, and fellowship across South Carolina. Guided by the policies of the Fellowship and accountable to the Administrative Council, the staff help connect congregations, support ministry partners, and resource churches and clergy for vibrant mission engagement. Their work reflects the shared values of collaboration, integrity, and responsiveness, ensuring that the vision of CBFSC is embodied in day-to-day ministry and long-term planning.

Administrative Council

The Administrative Council is entrusted with conducting the business of CBFSC between annual sessions of the General Assembly. Comprised of officers, past moderators, committee and ministry team chairs, and at-large members, the Council provides governance, sets financial and personnel policies, and ensures that the Fellowship’s work remains faithful to its mission. Meeting regularly throughout the year, the Council serves as a bridge between the annual gatherings, providing continuity and accountability for the life and ministries of CBFSC.

Committees & Teams

The Coordinating Council brings together a diverse group of leaders who represent the breadth of the Fellowship. By seeking balance among clergy and laity, men and women, and the racial, ethnic, generational, and geographic diversity of South Carolina, this body embodies CBFSC’s commitment to shared leadership and broad representation. In their work, the Coordinating Council members help discern vision, shape priorities, and resource ministries across the state.

Partnering Churches

At the heart of CBFSC are its partnering churches—congregations across South Carolina that have chosen to walk together in mission and fellowship. These churches embody the diversity of Baptist life while holding in common a desire to live faithfully, generously, and courageously in their communities.
